Block Tank, from my book series - Androids of War.

This is the Block Collective, characters from my books. Their tank is a joke and play on words... a block.

It seemed funny to me to make the tank a big clunky block with the chap running the mission and some crew standing on the top while they get around.

The idea also is to demonstrate basic kit bashing while also having fun telling stories.

It starts off as a box. I wanted it to be mostly flat panel type detail over the majority of it.

This is the top platform with the turret detail going on. The gun is the motor out of an old electric drill and weighed a lot, so this had a big support pin going down into the body.

I thought it would be funny to have three small tread sets with the front one having training wheels.

The back was an excuse to throw in lots of detail and tanks. This is figuring out what can fit in.

More of the detail going on and getting a coat of primer so I can see the final effect without lots of bright colours.

With the final colours, all metallic.

Slowly painting all the sections and getting it ready to dirty it down.
